I was that kid who was singing Christmas carols in July. So it should come as no surprise that by December first of every year that I was more than excited for my advent calendar. Each morning I would wake early, run down the staircase to tear open the little perforated slot for the day.
Each day meant we were inching closer to Christmas morning.
Though I don’t always remember what was in each advent calendar, I do remember the feeling of joy and excitement those advent calendars brought each Christmas. As a parent, I now have the immense privilege to watch the wonderment on my children’s faces as they enjoy counting down to Christmas with a magical advent calendar for kids.
