One of the many things I love about the holiday is the decorations and festivities. What better place to witness the beautiful lights and festivities then at a theme park?!
We were lucky enough to score discounted tickets to Universal Studios, Florida, at a homeschooling group rate from Traveling Homeschoolers.
The kids have been reading the Harry Potter series and binge-watching the movies, hoping we would be able to visit the parks soon.
Universal Orlando Christmas and Holiday events certainly didn’t disappoint.
Let me just say, if you are looking to experience the holiday season in a truly magical way, Universal Studios Orlando is the place to visit!

Universal Orlando Christmas and Holiday Events For The Entire Family
Universal Studios Orlando is full of fun and excitement during the holidays. It’s a magical time when the park offers special holiday-themed events, shows, and even special treats for guests to enjoy.
The CityWalk at Universal Studios is probably considered to be the heart of the park. Guests can enjoy the breathtaking Christmas tree and other activities available during the holidays.
In addition to the CityWalk, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is another must-see location while you’re visiting during the holidays.
If you’re planning a trip to Universal during the holidays, here’s a recap of the things you can participate in and experience during this time of the year.
Universal Orlando Christmas in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter
Ahh, this was our favorite place while visiting the parks! The kids reveled in all of the holiday-themed decors while practicing their spells and drinking Butterbeer.

During the holidays, Diagon Alley and London are transformed into something even more magical for guests to enjoy. The area is lined with festive décor, colorful holiday lights, garlands, and holiday wreaths.
Special holiday treats and drinks are available throughout the season and can be enjoyed with a special show from Celestina Warbeck and the Banshees. While dad and the girls rode Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts, Little Man and I danced and sang along!
In Universal’s Islands of Adventure, Hogsmeade also participates in the holiday cheer. The Frog Choir sings seasonal melodies around the park, and guests can enjoy even more special drinks and treats as they wander around enjoying experiencing the magic.
Holiday lights transform the Hogwarts Castle into a beautiful and magical Christmas light show that is a must-see. This year was our first time seeing the show, and if you have the opportunity to view it, I can’t recommend it enough!

The Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular can be seen at Seuss Landing. The area is decorated with nothing but holiday charm and cheer.
Enjoy a live retelling of the classic tale starring the Grinch. Visitors can meet the hilarious, naughty man himself, the Grinch, as you pose for a photo and get an autograph.
Families can also enjoy character breakfast activities by dining with the Grinch and his friends. The experience offers fun entrees and the opportunity to talk with the Grinch as he makes his rounds, poses for photos, and participates in some snarky small talk.
Universal’s Holiday Parade
This year the Minions join Santa Claus for the annual Universal’s Holiday Parade. The Macy’s parade is always a holiday favorite. Featuring fun themed floats, walking entertainers, music, and different characters from Shrek and Madagascar.

Mannheim Steamroller Show
The Mannheim Steamroller show is back again this year to help celebrate the holidays. On selected nights, visitors can enjoy a live performance by the Mannheim Steamroller.
If you’re unfamiliar with the group, the Mannheim Steamroller is a music group that’s primarily known for its Fresh Aire series of albums. Their style of music blends classical music with fun elements of new age and rock for their exclusive holiday shows.
Celebrate the Holidays with Festive Treats Throughout the Park
Seasonal food and beverages are offered throughout the park during the holiday season. There is a special holiday menu that can enjoy during the holidays at the Three Broomsticks, including a large Holiday Dinner and hot Butterbeer.
When your done enjoying your delicious holiday dinner, you can browse the shop for unique holiday items like ornaments, stockings, special figurines, and various tree toppers.
